Today I am grateful for having yesterday off work so I could pace myself. As it happened I had a really bad arthritis day, and those days are never nice when I have to be at work with a lot of lower back pain.
Instead I was able to take as much pain medication as I needed (I had no need to be driving), doze when I could (and try to recoup some of the lost sleep from the previous night), and generally just pace myself through the day. Even on a really rough day I can surprise myself with how much I can achieve.
Yesterday I made my girlfriend and I perfect eggs and soldiers for breakfast, and a Shepherd’s Pie with a cheesy mashed potato topping and an Apricot Danish for dinner. Yum! And all in my new Thermomix. I also managed to unpack everything from our weekend getaway, sort my eBay parcels ready for posting, and get another 14 items listed for sale. A pretty productive day really!
I have learnt that when my pain peaks at its worst is when I just need to keep going, even when I don’t feel like it. Falling in a heap helps no one – especially not me.

Today I am grateful for eBay. I never would have thought about adding eBay to this list, but when I think about how eBay has contributed to my goals then it really has to be here.
Rewind a few months to late last year. I had made the big, rather life changing decision to undertake IVF treatment (there’ll more on that in other posts, I’m sure!). I really embarked on it quite blindly in a financial sense because I had no idea what I was in for at all. When the bills started to roll in with too many zeros on the end I panicked a bit. They were huge, and I couldn’t afford to keep chasing my baby dreams without supplementing my regular wage somehow.
I started scouting through my local charity stores for great clothes and before I knew it my little part-time eBay gig was up and running.
I really am grateful for the ready made shopping community that is eBay because without it I’d be struggling to make ends meet AND pay for IVF. Because of eBay I’m able to donate to wonderful charities by buying their clothes and preventing them from ending up in landfill, listing the wonderful treasures I’ve found for an online shopper to discover, and making myself some money along the way.
Yay for eBay!

Today I am grateful for my orange boots. I haven’t had them long, maybe a month or so, but I’ve got a feeling they’re going to become favourites pretty quickly 🙂
Confession time: I admit I have a bit of a weakness for shoes with a difference. And they seem to multiply when I shut the wardrobe door!
I saw this particular pair when I was surfing eBay recently and I knew right away I would buy them. Orange suede with a perforated shaft and two buckles. Yummy!!
You made an average outfit pretty fabulous tonight – thank you orange boots ❤
